b'NewYorkCondominiumIwantedtheboxonthefollowingpagestoinvokeafeelingoflivinginacontemporarycondooverlookingNewYorkCityonafoggynight.MyinspirationsprungfromofmySundaymorningritualofreadingtheNewYorkTimesMagazinesection.Forthoseofyounotfamiliarwiththemagazine,mostofthefirstfewpagesofthemagazinecontainglossyadvertisementsofcityslatestminimalistcondominiumofferings.Theyalwayslooklikesuchexcitingplacestolive.(althoughprobablynotverywelcomingplacestoreadtheSundaypaper).IhopetheboxwillencouragetheviewertofocusonthisinterestingtensionforthemselvesCreatingtheboxprovedmoredifficultthatIexpected.Workingwithglasswallswasachallenge,asglassisveryunforgivingandisamagnetfordustandfingerprints.Also,photographingtheboxwasadifficultduetothedifferenceinintensityoftheinteriorandexteriorlighting.Inordertophotographit,Itookoneoverexposedphotographtocapturetheinteriorlightsandoneunderexposedphotographtocapturetheexteriorlighting.IthenelectronicallymergedthetwophotographstogetherinaPhotoshopprocessknownasHDR.Thechairandthecoucharereproductionsoffurniturecreatedbythedesignerandarchitect,LeCorbusier.Thesculpture,WalkingManisareproductionofaworkbyAlbertoGiacometti.Ialsowanttothanktheartists,BoBartlettandEvansArnold,forgrantingmepermissiontousetheirwonderfulimages.'
